Planning on heading to WoW Fest with your mates or a special someone? If so, be sure to refer to this guide which includes music, entertainment and loads more.

Saturday 20 April

10.30am – Festival Opening

FREE

Head on down to the Geraldton Foreshore for the official launch of WoW Fest.

11am – CAPTURED

FREE

Collect a camera and some expert tips on how to create your WoW experience from the CAPTURED booth. Your photos will then be used for the Act-Belong-Commit virtual experience!

11.30am – Carnival & Sideshow Alley

Get your dose of adrenaline at the Carnival and Sideshow Alley! The Zipper and Gravitron are sure to bring the thrills and challenge the most daring of daredevils. There’s also bumper cars, rides and loads of activities.

12.30pm – WoW Feast and Giant Kite Display

We hope you’re hungry because the WoW Feast space has an awesome selection of food vendors who will keep your hunger at bay. Grab some satay kebabs, wood fired pizza, churros, pasta, tacos, smoked meats, waffles and so much more. While you’re enjoying the smorgasbord of delights, look to the skies as they will be filled with colour from the giant kites.

1.30pm – Market Stalls

Shop for a variety of products and gifts from local and visiting stallholders.

2pm – Emerging Artists Stage

Hear from local performers as they make the Emerging Artists Stage their own! Ian Weggler, Ash Friesen, Jasmine Gannaway, Anne Williams and Achi Aquilar will be playing tunes for you to enjoy all weekend long.

2.45pm – Kinetic Creations Sculpture

FREE

Heads will turn as a giant kinetic sculpture in the form of a colourful lionfish makes its way around the Geraldton Foreshore. Celebrating the elements of wind and water, the giant kinetic sculpture comes to life through a bicycle, and the community is invited to help!

3.15pm – Galileo and Celeste Snails

FREE

Standing at 2.5m, these two giant snails have been created by Spare Parts Puppet Theatre as a dynamic and interactive piece which is not only visually appealing but also delivers a sensory treat.

A slow and steady voyage along the Foreshore will allow people to hear the sounds of the installation’s ancient horn and also get up close and personal by taking a look inside their shells.

3.45pm – WoW Fest Signature Dish and Siesta 

Check out local cafes and restaurants as they’ll have some promotions over the WoW Fest Weekend. This means you can try some awesome tapas and refreshments at a discounted price! If you tell Skeetas Restaurant that you’re attending WoW Fest they will give you 5% off and if you head to the Old Man and the Sea Rooftop Bar for a meal they will give you a free drink. After you’ve refuelled head home for an afternoon siesta before making your way back to the Foreshore.

6pm – Sunset Entertainment

FREE

Soak up one of Geraldton’s magnificent sunsets on the beach while taking in some great local entertainment. Musicians and performers will be scattered along the beach accompanied by the light of fire drums. This is the perfect place to have a picnic and soak up the atmosphere.

7pm – Ultimate Watersports Night Show

The crew at Ultimate Watersports are sure to bring this thrills to this year’s Wind on Water Festival with their high speed water shows. They use a mixture of jet skis and jetpacks to delight onlookers as well as LED light suits so you can see them at night.

9pm – Fireworks Display

FREE

The festivities don’t stop after the sunset entertainment, they continue with an epic fireworks show brought to you by the crew at Red Dust Holdings! Make sure you find a good spot to take in the dazzling show that will turn the sky ablaze.

Sunday 21 April

10am – Sand Sculpture Workshop

FREE

Watch sand sculpting guru Tim Darby pound the sand as he creates a masterpiece showcasing some of Geraldton’s icons. You can even participate in a workshop which will teach you the intricate art form!

10.30am – Carnival & Sideshow Alley

In case you didn’t get to have a shot on any of the rides yesterday, now’s your time to push your adrenaline levels to new heights!

11am – Club Formation

FREE

Club Formation will be putting on an air display featuring some of their aircrafts! They’ll be doing all sorts of moves and flying at high speeds. Sit back and take it all in.

11.15am – St Francis Xavier The Bells

FREE

The Geraldton Bells are the largest carillon of Church Bells in Australia and they will be at WoW Fest! They will ring at St Francis Xavier Cathedral daily at 12pm and 6pm.

12pm – Plastic Fantastic

FREE

Bring some plastic and watch the magic happen as junk is transformed into a beautiful wall of flowers. Upcycling extraordinaires Paula and Helene will be at the Foreshore with the Geraldton Regional Art Gallery crew, helping Geraldton to turn waste plastic into something amazing.

1pm – WoW Feast

Head to the WoW Feast to recharge on some delicious food before heading home for a few hours to prepare for the WoW Fest Concert.

3pm – WoW Fest Concert

This is the big one! Culminating a stellar weekend of activities, The Temper Trap and Tkay Maidza will headline the RedFM WoW Fest Concert.

This all ages ticketed event is just $30pp and has a licensed area. Get ready Geraldton, this is going to be bucket loads of fun and good vibes.
