Big Sky Readers & Writers Festival returns next week

Lovers of literature are in for a treat next week as the Big Sky Readers & Writers Festival descends and brings some much-loved authors to Geraldton.

Some of the instalments you may like to attend include:

Opening Night

Date: Thursday 13 June

Time: 6pm – 8pm

Venue: Geraldton Regional Library

Come along and celebrate the opening of Big Sky 2019, where you can meet guests, catch up with friends and plan the weekend ahead. Enjoy the opening of Sightlines by local artist Marina Baker as well as live music and light refreshments.

Big Sky Readers & Writers Festival

Keynote Address and Sessions

Date: Saturday 15 June

Time: 9.15am – 5.30pm

Venue: Geraldton Universities Centre

Hear from the authors and their latest works at these insightful sessions.

Verse in the Valley

Date: Saturday 15 June

Time: 7pm – 9.30pm

Venue: Oakabella Homestead and Tea Rooms

Tickets: $45 or $55 with bus pass

Head to the historic Oakabella Homestead for a rustic evening of poetry and live music. Includes open mic sessions, readings and buffet dinner. Bar provided, no BYO. Camping is also available.

Tales and Teacups

Date: Sunday 16 June

Time: 1.30pm – 3pm

Venue: Ngala Midwest and Gascoyne

Tickets: $48

Sumptuous cakes and other delicious delights await amidst readings by Michelle Johnston, Lisa Walker and Alli Sinclair with Meredith Wills. Chat with special guests and enjoy welcome drinks in the garden on arrival.
