Grab your pluggers, hat and sunnies and head to the Geraldton Foreshore this Sunday for another cracking celebration of our nation’s birthday.

Activities and entertainment will be happening throughout the day and a lot of them are free thanks to major sponsors Healthways - LiveLighter and Lotterywest.

Yamaji Art workshops, Kids Beach Party, Pop Up Maze, Batavia Coast Veteran and Classic Vehicle Club Display and the Geraldton Yacht Club Dragon Boat Classic are just a few of the activities community members will enjoy this Australia Day.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said he looked forward to the community coming together.

“Australia Day is all about celebrating our beautiful nation and its diverse and friendly people,” he said.

“The Geraldton Foreshore will be pumping once again and like usual, a lot of the activities are free for all to enjoy. Festivities are also happening in Mullewa, so get on down to the Mullewa Swimming Pool and join in on all the fun.

“A big thank you to Healthways - LiveLighter and Lotterywest for their sponsorship of this event – it’s allowing us to throw another massive family-friendly party.”

For those celebrating in Mullewa, the local swimming pool is where all the fun and entertainment will take place from 8am. Enjoy free entry, a barbecue breakfast, pool inflatables plus music and entertainment.

Main stage celebrations in Geraldton will begin at 2.20pm and include a special Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony, Australia Day WA Active Citizen of the Year Awards, entertainment plus a performance from the high-energy headline act Shakedown.

To conclude the day a fireworks show will light up at the sky at approximately 8.30pm.
