Exploring the region has never been easier thanks to the creation of grab and go visitor itineraries that are now available to collect at the Geraldton Visitor Centre!

Family friendly activities, island hopping at the Abrolhos Islands, history buff must-dos plus Geraldton’s own bucket list are some of the adventures people can enjoy in the Midwest.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said the itineraries made it easier for visitors to explore the region.

“We are trying to make it as easy and engaging as possible for people to explore our region and these 12 grab and go itineraries do just that,” he said.

“You’ll be able to select your own adventure and refer to it via a printed copy, digital version or on the new Visitor Experience Self Service Kiosk.

“The itineraries cater to all the travellers we have coming through – couples, families, caravaners and everyone in between – and they’re based on what our Visitor Experience team receive the most enquiries about.”

Visitors will know the best beaches to go to and what amenities they have, towns that are close by and accessible in a day, off-road four-wheel drive adventures, the charters to go on to catch a whopping fish as well as the best spots to view spring’s wildflowers.

The grab and go itineraries are based around Geraldton being the ‘hub’ to explore the Midwest and Australia’s Coral Coast region.

The itineraries also tie in with the City’s recent tourism marketing campaign ‘Adventure Awaits’ which has seen iconic Midwest locations on the back of buses and strategic locations in Perth.
