Grab your water bottle and whack on some comfortable shoes, the City of Greater Geraldton’s School Holiday Program is here to keep the kids active this break!

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn was pleased to introduce the winter program for 2022.

“Getting the kids out and about when it’s a bit cool outside can sometimes be tricky, but this program is sure to get them fired up,” he said.

“With a mountain of activities on offer from an inflatable obstacle course to wheelchair basketball and even a chance to get your handprint into a time capsule, there’s something for everyone.

“Grab a printout for a list of City hosted events, or head to our website to see the full range of activities on offer!”

Free City hosted activities that will get the blood pumping include the popular soccer clinic and wheelchair basketball, skate skills clinics for beginners and an inflatable obstacle course.

Kids that would rather stay indoors can enjoy Dungeons and Dragons and a low tox potion party, or they can head to Geraldton Regional Art Gallery to learn how to do simple mini weaving.

Geraldton Regional Library will be hosting activities including an excursion with Birdlife Midwest-Geraldton, how to be a Digital Superstar, build an insect hotel and Wave to the Future, where participants will record their handprint for inclusion in a time capsule.

Activities and excursions will also return to the Mullewa Youth Centre, with art and craft workshops, e-games, indoor sports, song anthems and even a trip to Spalding Park Golf Club.

Additional listings can be found on the City’s website, including an array of creepy crawly events at Museum of Geraldton, crafts galore at the Scrapbook House, plus a few new faces to the program such as Rhythm and Rhymes with Regional Sounds.
