The sun is shining and the flowers are blooming, making it a great time to get out and about in Geraldton. There’s also a variety of events taking place that are sure to entertain you this month.

Act Belong Commit Wildflower & Artistic Delights

Until 23 September | 10am | Free | Geraldton Visitor Centre

Spring has sprung at the Geraldton Visitor Centre with the Act Belong Commit Wildflower & Artistic Delights exhibition! Featuring truckloads of native blooms from all over the region and under one roof for your ease and enjoyment. Local artist Glenda Blyth also has her unique handmade baskets on display alongside other artists. Grab a coffee downstairs at Swingin’ Tarts before making your way upstairs to view the seasonal display.

The Antarctica Experience

Until 20 October | Various times | $7.50 - $15 | Museum of Geraldton

While it is blooming around the region the Museum of Geraldton has been taken over by cold temperatures thanks to the sell-out documentary The Antarctica Experience. It’s the first virtual reality film of its kind and a must see this September. During the adventure you will ride inside a research helicopter to explore the area from the sky, visit the resident penguin colony, and see Davis Station as well as the spectacular Southern Lights. Tickets range from $7.50 - $15 per person.

Beats on the Green

Saturday 14 September | 3pm | $15 - $20 | Geraldton Turf Club

It’s going to be one of the biggest outdoor DJ events Geraldton has seen and is bound to be bundles of good times. Sweet Orange Productions and Sunday Best have teamed up to deliver the Beats on the Green that features both Perth and Geraldton DJs. Tickets range from $15 - $20 with the event happening at the Geraldton Turf Club.

Rocks Laneway Grand Reveal

Friday 20 September | 5.30pm | Free | Marine Terrace

Rocks Laneway will officially open and be revealed to the community for the very first time. To mark the opening, there will be an official ‘light switch flick’ which will illuminate the Ghost Office to the public for the very first time. There will be various entertainers scattered throughout the laneway with elements of the area’s history, a scavenger hunt for the kids as well as local businesses in the vicinity open for the occasion. It’s set to be one hell of a launch, with all activities free.

Pink Argyle Diamond Exhibition

Friday 27 September | 5.30pm | Free | Gemma Baker Jewellers

A rare collection of certified Pink Argyle Diamonds will be on display at Gemma Baker Jewellers and you can see them all on opening night. The Argyle Diamond Mine is due to close next year so if you’re looking to learn more about them or invest, this event is a must attend! Pink champagne will be served to celebrate the launch.

AFL Grand Final at Illegal Tender Rum Co

Saturday 28 September | 11.30am | $25 | Springfield, Dongara

Keen to watch the Grand Final at a new eatery with fragrant rum? Illegal Tender Rum Co are showing the 2019 AFL Grand Final live from their new space The Common Place. Join them at 11.30am where you’ll be treated to a ploughman’s board on arrival and then sit back and enjoy the game. $25 per person.
