Children in the Midwest will be treated to a series of pop-up workshops and performances presented by Queens Park Theatre thanks to $75,000 from Lotterywest.
Theatre workshops in Mullewa and Walkaway are bound to delight this March along with “Whoosh” – an interactive and multi-sensory adventure for children with a disability in July.
But youth won’t be the only ones to benefit, with part of the funding going towards the popular Morning Melodies and Australia Day event on the Geraldton Foreshore.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn thanked Lotterywest for the ongoing support.
“This latest round of funding will allow the QPT to host fun and engaging workshops in Mullewa and Walkaway for youth to get creative and dream a little bigger,” he said.
“Whoosh” is a fantastic workshop that we are able to provide for children with a disability. This will be a real treat for both the participants, their families and everyone involved.
“Our community certainly appreciates and loves the initiatives that come out of this vital funding from Lotterywest.”
The pop-up workshops in Mullewa and Walkaway are part of the QPT’s Outreach Program.
