The wait is almost over for literary lovers, with Big Sky Readers and Writers Festival set to kick off from this Thursday 28 September.
With a plethora of different events, sessions, workshops and exhibits – those wanting to attend are reminded there are only a few tickets left and to book quick.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn was excited for the newest iteration of the beloved festival.
“This year’s theme, Art of Words, will take festival-goers on a creative journey with some of Australia’s best talent,” he said.
“The programme includes plenty of events for people of all ages, from story time, writing workshops, author talks and exciting exhibitions over the next four days,
“Spots are filling up fast so head to the Library’s website and grab your tickets right away!”
Opening night celebrations kick off the Festival from 6pm on Thursday 28 September.
Celebrated local poet, Dr Charmaine Papertalk Green, along with popular Australian authors Rachael Treasure, Anthea Hodgson, Laurie Steed and Suzanne Ingelbrecht are just a few of the guests who will be making appearances over the festival
Cartoonist Dean Alston and graphic novelists, Bruce Mutard and Aśka, also feature in the lineup.
Events will be held throughout the Midwest in Geraldton, Northampton, Mullewa and Greenough and include activities for both young people and adults.
