Businesses in the Geraldton city centre are invited to jingle all the way this festive season, with entries open for an engaging new initiative that encourages storefronts to be decorated to spread Christmas cheer.
Jingle through Geraldton has some incredible prizes up for grabs and the community will play a pivotal role in seeing who nabs them enthused City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune.
“This is a fun and inclusive new initiative to bring our community together, activate our city centre, support local businesses and make our CBD the place to be these holidays,” he said.
“I encourage everyone to get involved – whether it be local businesses decorating their shopfront or the community casting a vote for their favourite display!”
Mid West Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. CEO Joanne Fabling added that Christmas is a key retail time for local businesses to shine.
“The Chamber is delighted to support the City of Greater Geraldton and our Geraldton businesses to “sparkle” this Christmas, building on another busy year and continuing the fantastic activation in our CBD.”
Businesses have the opportunity to win one of three prizes:
1st place: Premium business branding photography package valued at $2,500
2nd place: Buy Local Greater Geraldton Gift Card valued at $1,500
3rd place: Mid West Chamber of Commerce and Industry membership and marketing pack
Community members who vote for the best CBD shopfront will also have the chance to win one of three $100 Buy Local Greater Geraldton Gift Cards.
Businesses have until Wednesday 26 November to register their interest, with the community having from Monday 1 December – Monday 5 January to vote. Voting information will be available on the City’s social media channels closer to the date.
Businesses can register on the City’s website, and this initiative forms part of our commitment to supporting businesses and adding vibrancy to the CBD.
