August is well and truly upon us and all eyes are on Mullewa, as the flourishing heart of wildflower country blooms with a number of events, pop-up shops and more!

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn is encouraging everyone to take the trip out east.

“There is so much to experience in Mullewa and it is not just the wildflowers,” he said.

“Alongside the brilliant floral offering, Mullewa is also home to the newly revamped Pirrottina Park as well as Helen Ansell’s Studio Gallery - a must for art lovers and travellers to the area.

“There’s also the much-loved Outback Bloom Wildflower Festival and Mullewa Agricultural Show.

“I urge everyone to make the most of the cooler weather and hit the road to Mullewa to experience one of the most fantastic wonders of our region,” Mayor Van Styn concluded.

Outback Bloom Wildflower Festival features bushwalks, flower displays in the Mullewa Town Hall, botanical artist talks, bush tucker yarns and photography workshops.

The festival officially starts Thursday 24 August and finishes on Sunday 27 August.

The Mullewa Agricultural Show will also be taking place Saturday 26 August, and will make for a great weekend to explore Mullewa and it’s surrounds.

The Outback Bloom Wildflower Festival and the Mullewa Agricultural Show are proudly funded in part by the City’s Festival and Event Funding Program.
